British Mezzo-Soprano, Olympia Hetherington, was educated at Cambridge University and the Royal Northern College of Music.
In 2025 she was one of fourteen singers to be admitted to the Accademia Verdiana at Teatro Regio di Parma, a prestigious training program in Parma, Italy dedicated to training Verdi singers of the next generation.
In summer 2025 she will sing the role of Marcellina in ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ in Palermo, Sicily.
In 2024 she debuted the role of Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma on a tour of France and Spain with Opera 2001, performing in the Teatro Olympia, Valencia, Le Pin Galant, Merignac, El Batel, Cartagena and the Opéra de Massy, Paris.
Last year she appeared on Rai television performing arias by Verdi in a theatrical retelling of the composer’s life. Recent roles include Suzuki (Madama Butterfly), Zita (Gianni Schicchi) and Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica) for the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca.
She holds a scholarship for 2022/23 at the Accademia di Montegral, where she studies under the supervision of renowned Austrian conductor, Gustav Kuhn.
